Project Overview
The HIV and Hepatitis Awareness Campaign is one of the flagship projects of the Global Platform for Treatment Advocacy (GATA). This initiative is designed to reduce the prevalence, stigma, and misinformation surrounding HIV and Hepatitis B & C among African and minority ethnic (BME) populations in Europe and Africa.
Our goal is to ensure that these communities gain access to accurate information, testing, and treatment — empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and contribute to the elimination of these diseases by 2030, in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) global targets.
Project Objectives
Raise Awareness: Increase public knowledge of HIV and Hepatitis transmission, prevention, and treatment among targeted communities.
Promote Testing and Early Diagnosis: Encourage regular screening through free or subsidized community-based testing drives.
Reduce Stigma: Tackle myths, misconceptions, and discrimination against people living with HIV and Hepatitis.
Improve Access to Care: Connect individuals to local health centers, treatment programs, and support services.
Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and policy actors to sustain long-term impact.
